Submissions now open for Showcase in Pixels 2025

Submissions for Showcase in Pixels are open now and close on Friday, 26 September. Showcase in Pixels is the preeminent Local Government Art Competition, hosted by WALGA with entries received from our 139 Member Councils.

This year, Local Governments will receive and submit multiple artworks to WALGA representing their community, culminating with an announcement of the winning works displayed at the iconic digital tower at the heart of Yagan Square.

Renewable Energy Community Benefits and Engagement Guide

WALGA has released a Renewable Energy Community Benefits and Engagement Guide to assist Local Governments navigate large-scale renewable energy projects.

The Guide, developed by WALGA in consultation with Local Government, State Government and industry, is designed to support Local Governments in dealing with large-scale renewable energy projects.

The Guide provides Local Governments with a practical framework to understand their role, engage with developers and their communities and advocate for lasting economic benefits from these projects.

Taking place at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre between September 22-24, the WALGA Local Government Convention is the landmark event in the Local Government calendar.

We bring together Elected Members, suppliers, Council officers and key stakeholders as part of a unique program of professional development, networking and business opportunities.

State Budget 2025-26

WALGA’s State Budget Analysis 2025-26

The Budget contains important measures reflective of the WALGA’s advocacy in areas of road safety, health, housing, emergency management, telecommunications and safer children's crossings.

WALGA is pleased to see funding provided in areas that will support Local Government and will continue to advocate for missed opportunities on behalf of its Members and the communities they represent.
