Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Legislation

The amended Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 (the 1972 Act) came into effect on 15 November 2023, repealing the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2021 and all associated Regulations.

The amended 1972 Act is supported by amendments to the Aboriginal Heritage Regulations 1974, transitional Regulations, and new Regulations which introduce a fee regime.

Information about Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Legislation and compliance can be found on the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage (DPLH) website.

WALGA is hosting an information webinar with DPLH on Tuesday 28 November, from 2pm-3pm. Register your interest here.
