Australian Fire Danger Rating System

On Thursday, 1 September 2022, the Australian Fire Danger Rating System (AFDRS) was introduced across Australia. This means that wherever people are in Australia, they will see and access consistent fire danger advice.

AFDRS.PNGThis project has involved the development of new signage design with revised Ratings (depicted right), new messaging to accompany the revised Ratings, a review of the WA Fire Weather Districts to improve communication of the Ratings, and complimentary legislation change to the Bush Fires Act 1954 and Regulations. For more information, contact DFES via AFDRS@dfes.wa.gov.au.
