Last week at an awards event in Yagan Square, finalists and winners of WALGA's community art competition Showcase in Pixels were announced, with winning artwork proudly displayed on the digital tower.
WALGA's long standing art competition has been running since mid 1990's, starting as Banners in the Terrace during Convention week, before transforming into Showcase in Pixels.
This year more than 300 entries were received, giving judges the difficult task of shortlisting finalists and choosing winners across six categories, with the People's Choice award voted by the public.

🎨 Stefanie Louise Palladino: Individual – Professional – City of Canning
🎨 Abhijit Prasanth: Individual - Non-Professional - Town of Mosman Park
🎨 Dustie Sutherland: Secondary School (up to year 12) - City of Cockburn
🎨 Quinton Yong: Primary School (up to year 6) - City of Nedlands
🎨 Isabella Yee Sa Leong: Primary School (up to year 3) - City of Canning
🎨 Shiwen Shao: People’s Choice - City of Stirling
🌟 An honourable mention: Ellinah Shin - City of Cockburn
Showcase in Pixels could not happen with our the support of Local Governments, community members, teachers, students, Department of Education, Perth Art School and our amazing judging panel - a big thank you!
Thanks also to everyone who took the time to create amazing artwork - the talent, creativity and diversity of this year's entries were incredible.
