WALGA Launches eLearning Special Offer
WALGA has launched a special eLearning subscription, offering training and development targeted to those members of the Local Government workforce that are unable to work from home but are required to isolate due to COVID-19, such as outdoor workers.
This eLearning subscription comprises 15 short courses, including an Introduction to Local Government, Fatigue Management Awareness and general Occupational Health and Safety courses.
It is offered as a 12-month subscription for $330 (incl GST) per participant, which allows workers to access the training at any time. Local Governments should ensure that participants have an appropriate electronic device and their own unique email to enrol.
WALGA thanks City of Vincent CEO David MacLennan for suggesting this training, which will allow professional development opportunities for workers who are unable to work from home.

Pre-Deployment of Pulse Oximeters Continuing for Country WA
Local Governments, in partnership with the Department of Health and the WA Country Health Service, are continuing to provide pulse oximeters to vulnerable people across country WA.
WA Health is supporting vulnerable people across regional and remote WA having timely access to pulse oximeters ahead of a potential COVID-19 diagnosis.
WA Health would like to thank the regional Local Governments who are supporting this initiative by identifying suitable locations where vulnerable members of the public can collect a pulse oximeter for their residence, in addition to raising community awareness.
Due to close proximity to metro delivery hubs, Perth and Peel residents do not need to collect a pre-deployed pulse oximeter as one will be delivered directly to them should they test positive to COVID-19, be enrolled in the COVID Care at Home program and require a device.
Residents in country WA who test positive to COVID-19 will also receive a pulse oximeter through the COVID Care at Home program if required, however there may be a postage delay.
