Active Transport
Local Governments maintain much of the Active Transport infrastructure in Western Australia.
The WALGA Infrastructure Team produces resources and guidelines and advocates on behalf of Local Governments across the transport portfolio. Among the key focus areas are active transport, aviation, public transport, and heavy vehicles/freight, though WALGA is also involved in issues relating to ports and boating activities.

Public transport plays an important role in providing both long- and short-distance transport options across and within Local Government boundaries.
Heavy Vehicles/Freight
Local Government roads carry freight in many cases. WALGA provides diverse resources to support Local Government in managing these freight tasks on their road networks.
