The WALGA Environment and Planning teams hosted a workshop on 25 October 2023 to assist 'non-planners' to better understand State and Local Government planning processes.

Presentations highlighted intervention points at both the strategic and statutory planning levels to improve environmental outcomes.  The workshop included a one hour Masterclass on environmental planning, followed by case studies that focused on protection of native vegetation, supporting landscape connectivity, retaining trees on private property, and supporting sustainability features in residential developments.

The workshop was attended by over 60 Local Government staff members from environment, planning and infrastructure directorates, together with State Government departments.
