The Certificate III in Local Government is an ideal opportunity to develop and enhance the capacity of your staff.
The program covers the skills and knowledge required to perform a wide range of duties in the Local Government sector, including understanding the functions, roles, and diverse services offered by Local Governments in Western Australia. Nationally recognised training:
- The Certificate III in Local Government (LGA30120) is a nationally recognised training program within the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF).
- The Qualification consists of 12 Units of Competency (UoC), 4 core and 8 elective units.

From 1 July 2024, providers formerly known as Australian Apprenticeship Support Network Providers (AASNs) will change to Apprentice Connect Australia Provider. They connect apprentices and trainees with employers and support you throughout your apprenticeship/traineeship.
The Certificate III in Local Government is available as a Traineeship offering Federal and WA Government hiring incentive payments to the employer. Your Apprentice Connect Australia Provider can help you with any questions you have about your claim.

- To be eligeable, the completion of Year 10 or equivalent is required.
- Prospective students will already be employed in a Local Government in WA in customer service, finance, people and culture, parks and gardens, or any other relevant role.
The below fees are indicative for 2024* for students who are eligible for the Jobs and Skills WA funding. The final fee depends on the selection of elective Unit of Competency.
