WALGA releases first three LG TRRIP research projects

  • The first Local Government Transport and Roads Research and Innovation Program research projects (LG TRRIP) released for Local Government practitioners
  • Projects aim to improve specialist capability across Local Governments in road construction and safety
  • Innovative research managed by the WALGA Infrastructure team, in collaboration with Main Roads WA

WALGA has delivered the first of a series of LG TRRIP innovation projects, in collaboration with Main Roads WA and the Australian Road Research Board (now National Transport Research Organisation – NTRO)

The first three resources are now available comprising:

  1. Low-cost road safety improvements for rural Local Government roads in WA
  2. Considerations for Sealing Local Government Roads in WA, and
  3. Sustainable road construction practices for Local Government roads in WA

The research and project guidelines are published in an easy reference guideline format including background, approach, and application, as well as in a detailed supporting technical report for interested professionals.

“These are the very latest guidelines in road innovation for Local Governments to use,” said WALGA President Karen Chappel.

“They cover contemporary issues and describe advanced technology solutions, that are cost effective and practical.”

WALGA will shortly be announcing the next three LG TRRIP projects.
