The Polyphagous Shot-hole Borer (PSHB) Transition to Management (T2M) phase represents a significant change to stakeholder responsibilities and activities compared with the previous four-year eradication response.
The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) is leading the 18-month T2M and has commenced a risk-based approach to surveillance and tree treatment that considers both species susceptibility and location in the landscape.
A summary of the PSHB Response Plan is available here.
DPIRD is developing a Capacity Building and Training Program for Local Governments and will provide further details shortly.

Long term management of PSHB will require a strong governance framework with agreed roles and responsibilities, as well as sustained funding.
WALGA will continue to advocate for Local Governments requirements in both T2M and beyond.
