New website features help Members identify Aboriginal Suppliers
WALGA has introduced a new feature in the Preferred Supplier Directory to make it easier for Members to identify and support Aboriginal businesses.

An Aboriginal Supplier badge will now appear on supplier profiles where applicable, and new search and filter functionality allows users to display Aboriginal suppliers only. This enhancement improves visibility and makes it simpler for Members to identify Aboriginal businesses when procuring goods and services through the Preferred Supplier Program.

WALGA has also been actively working to increase Aboriginal business participation across the program. Through recent panel refreshes and supplier engagements, the number of Aboriginal businesses represented on WALGA panels has continued to grow, providing Members with greater opportunities to engage Aboriginal suppliers across a range of categories.

Suppliers identified as Aboriginal businesses have been verified through registration with recognised organisations including Supply Nation, the Noongar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI), or Aboriginal Business Directory WA.

These improvements help Members to make more informed procurement decisions, and strengthens opportunities for Aboriginal businesses to participate in Local Government supply chains.

If you know of other Aboriginal businesses interested in joining WALGA’s Preferred Supplier Program or have questions, please email the WALGA Commercial team.
