Grants to improve safety and accessibility of remote airstrips
Round 11 of the of the Australian Government’s Remote Airstrip Upgrade Program open (RAU). This new round of grants are available to improve safety and year-round all-weather accessibility of remote airstrips, and improve delivery of essential goods and services.

These grants offer essential funding to improve safety and accessibility of aerodromes in remote/very remote Australian communities. The intended outcome of the program will: 
•    improve the safety of aircraft, operators and passengers using remote and very remote airstrips 
•    facilitate improved delivery of essential goods and services such as food supplies, health care, community mail and passenger air services 
•    complement air services delivery to communities subsidised under the Australian Government’s Remote Air Services Subsidy (RASS) Scheme 
•    meet operational requirements of aeromedical (including the RFDS) and emergency services 
•    support improved access to air services for people with disability.

A total of $25 million in funding is available for this round, with grants up to 50% of eligible costs ranging from $5,000 to $4 million. 

Eligible airport or aerodrome owners or operators are encouraged to apply by Friday, 13 December 2024.
