Congratulations to WA recipients of the Order of Australia medals

A heartfelt congratulations to all WA receipents of the Medal of Order of Australia, including:

•    Former WALGA State Councillor Kenneth Clements for his service to Local Government and to the community of the Mount Barker region.

(Plantagenet Shire President 2009-2017, Deputy President since 2024, Councillor 1990-1993 and since 1995. WALGA State Councillor 2013-2017, Great Southern Country Zone Chair and member. WALGA Long and Loyal Service Award 2009 and Life Membership in 2016)

•    Former WALGA East Metropolitan Zone Delegate Barry McKenna, for his service to the communities of Perth (City of Baywater Mayor 2015-2017, Deputy Mayor 2009-2013, Councillor 1991-2021. WALGA East Metropolitan Zone early 2000s to 2017. Received a WALGA Meritorious Service award in 2003)
 
Plus other Local Governments colleagues and Members:

•    Marcus Jacobus Geisler to the environment (EMRC CEO 2019-2024)
•    Marjorie Jessie Barker to community through history preservation (City of South Perth Councillor 1994-1997)
•    Jann Sonya McFarlane to the community of Western Australia (City of Stirling Councillor 2005-2007)
•    Hugh Russel Thomson to the community of Woodanilling (Shire of Woodanilling – President 1995-2021, Deputy President since 2022; 1991-1995, Councillor since 1982. Received a WALGA Meritorious Service award in 2004.)
