The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) in collaboration with the Department of Education, is excited to announce the opening of the Community Use of School Sporting Facilities Program. This $10 million initiative aims to increase community access to public school sporting facilities.
The first funding round is open until Friday, 21 March 2025. Further rounds will be announced throughout the year.
Local Governments are invited to raise awareness with community sporting groups to identify high-need sports and areas, and to facilitate engagement with schools as a means of directing the funding where it will have the greatest impact.
The program seeks to enhance the use of school sporting facilities by community sporting groups, ensuring these facilities meet local needs while providing benefits to the schools involved.
