Developed by the Australian Climate Service, the Risk Assessment compiles data and analysis from the Bureau of Meteorology, CSIRO, the Australian Bureau of Statistics and Geoscience Australia.
A key finding of the Risk Assessment is the need for coordinated investment and collaborative governance to address climate risks.
The Australian Government identified they will continue working with States and Local Government towards implementing an adaptation action agenda.
Findings of the Assessment further demonstrates the need for scaled investment and resources for Local Governments to adequately plan for, and manage, the localised impacts of climate change.

WALGA is advocating to the Government to hold a targeted WA specific briefing on the climate risk assessment and will inform Local Government on this at a later date.
