Call for motions for National General Assembly of Local Government (NGA)
The 31st National General Assembly of Local Government (NGA) is taking place:

Tuesday, 24 to Friday 27 June 2025
National Convention Centre, Canberra, ACT.

ALGA invites all councils to send representatives to this important national event. The NGA is the premier national gathering of local governments, and provides councils with the opportunity to come together, share ideas, debate motions, and most importantly unite and further build on the relationship between local government and the Australian Government.

Key Details:
The theme for this year's NGA, "National Priorities Need Local Solutions," emphasizes the unique role of councils in addressing national challenges through local action. Councils are invited to submit concise, practical, and implementable motions that align with one or more of the 12 identified priority areas, including intergovernmental relations, housing, climate change, and infrastructure.
•    Call for motions: 18 December 2024
•    Submission deadline: 11:59 PM AEST, Monday 31 March 2025
•    Motions must be submitted electronically via the ALGA website at www.alga.asn.au

Your participation in this process is highly encouraged.
