Congratulations and thank you to all attendees, speakers and partners who contributed to another successful People and Culture Seminar for 2025, held on Friday, 25 July at Perth Convention and Exhibtion Centre.
Joined by over 140 delegates from disciplines including Industrial Relations, Human Resources, People and Culture and Employee Relations, the Seminar's diverse program was centred around Leading People: Compassion, Compliance and Collaboration.
Session highlights included:
- Greg Hire - Founder, A Stitch in Time and Former Perth Wildcats Vice Captain. Greg delved into the topic of 'what makes a good leader'.
- Chief Commissioner Kenner - WA Industrial Relations Commission (WAIRC) presented on WA's Industrial Relations systems in action: resolutions, instructments and reforms.
- Heather Millar - Barrister, ShoreLine Chambers shared her experiences with navigating the WAIRC and the Industrial Magistrates Court.
- The insighftul panel discussion provided robust discussions from Jethro George and Myreesa Hurtado from AbilityWA, Georgia Miller from Job Access and Erika Everitt from the City of Stirling.
- Philippa Lonie - Director, Greenshoots spoke on Inclusion and Employee Relations.
- The day concluded with a engaging session delivered by WALGA Training Experts Eva Goodwin and Christine Taylor, with closing remarks from Tony Brown, Executive Director Member Services.
Now in its 15th year, WALGA's prestigious Seminar again delivered a day of thought-provoking sessions and expert speakers, providing delegates with learnings, insights and ideas to embed in their own teams and Councils.
