WALGA Federal Budget Analysis 2025-26

Treasurer Chalmers reported a $27.6 billion deficit for the 2024–25 financial year, which is forecast to increase to $42.8 billion by 2025–26, with ongoing deficits expected in future years. Gross debt is projected to surpass $1 trillion during 2025–26, adding pressure on subsequent Budgets to manage rising interest payments.

WALGA Strategic Plan 2025-2029

WALGA’s Strategic Plan for 2025-2029 sets out the vision, values and strategic focus for the organisation for the next five years.

WALGA’s Strategic Plan was developed in consultation with our Members and key stakeholders.

State Council, as the governing body of WALGA, provided final endorsement of the Strategic Plan on 6 December 2024.
