Local Government Honours Awards

Local Government Honours Awards

The Honours Program recognises and celebrates the outstanding achievements and lasting contributions made by Elected Member and officers to their respective Local Government, the Local Government sector, WALGA and the wider community.

All Local Government Elected Members and Officers are eligible for nomination for each award. In deciding winners for each category, the Honours Panel will consider the demonstrated character, integrity and proper conduct of the nominee. Testimonial from Mayor Logan Howlett

“Having received the great honour of being awarded Life Membership of WALGA in 2024 I encourage Elected Members and Local Government officers to take the time to acquaint themselves with the Local Government Honours Program for 2025.

Within your Local Government there will be someone deserving of being nominated to recognise their outstanding achievements and lasting contributions to the sector.

So put pen to paper before the closing date, ensuring you follow the defined guidelines for one or more of the six categories reflected in the Honours Program and bring a sense of recognition and pride to potential recipients in what is a very competitive process.” - Mayor Logan Howlett, City of Cockburn
