Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Western Australian Local Government Association (WALGA) will be held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on Wednesday, 9 October 2024 at 2.30pm.

Attendance at the AGM is free for all Elected Members and officers from Member Local Governments. Voting Delegates and Proxies must be registered (registration information below).

The AGM is being held in conjunction with the Local Government Convention 2024 (the Convention). Further information on the Convention will be announced shortly.

WALGA Constitution

This Constitution serves as the instrument for establishment of the Western Australian Local Government Association (WALGA). 

The establishment of WALGA in 2001 represents an evolution in the process by Local Government to promote more effective representation on behalf of its elected membership and the broader community.

WALGA acknowledges the continuing connection of Aboriginal people to Country, culture and community. We embrace the vast Aboriginal cultural diversity throughout Western Australia, including Boorloo (Perth), on the land of the Whadjuk Nyoongar People, where WALGA is located and we acknowledge and pay respect to Elders past and present.
