Annual General Meeting

The WALGA Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on Thursday, 17 September 2026 at 2:30pm in conjunction with the 2026 Local Government Convention (LGC26).

Attendance at the AGM is free for all Local Government Elected Members and officers. 

Each Member Local Government is entitled to be represented by two Voting Delegates who are each entitled to one vote. 

The 2026 Notice of Meeting was distributed to Local Government CEOs on Friday, 12 June 2026. The link to register Voting Delegates was distributed to Local Government CEOs on Tuesday, 23 June 2026.

WALGA Constitution

This Constitution serves as the instrument for establishment of the Western Australian Local Government Association (WALGA). 

The establishment of WALGA in 2001 represents an evolution in the process by Local Government to promote more effective representation on behalf of its elected membership and the broader community.

WALGA acknowledges the continuing connection of Aboriginal people to Country, culture and community. We embrace the vast Aboriginal cultural diversity throughout Western Australia, including Boorloo (Perth), on the land of the Whadjuk Nyoongar People, where WALGA is located and we acknowledge and pay respect to Elders past and present.
