These important awards acknowledge the outstanding achievements and contributions made by Elected Members and Officers to the Local Government sector.

In deciding winners for each category, the Honours Panel considered the demonstrated character, integrity and proper conduct of the nominee. The Honours Panel was established by State Council as an independent group to provide a fair, unbiased and depoliticised process for the administration of the annual Local Government Honours Program.

Testimonial from Mayor Logan Howlett

“Having received the great honour of being awarded Life Membership of WALGA in 2024 I encourage Elected Members and Local Government officers to take the time to acquaint themselves with the Local Government Honours Program for 2025.

Within your Local Government there will be someone deserving of being nominated to recognise their outstanding achievements and lasting contributions to the sector.

So put pen to paper before the closing date, ensuring you follow the defined guidelines for one or more of the six categories reflected in the Honours Program and bring a sense of recognition and pride to potential recipients in what is a very competitive process.” - Mayor Logan Howlett, City of Cockburn
