Celebrating creativity across Local Government
Be part of WALGA’s annual digital exhibition, where Councils from across Western Australia showcase their communities through vibrant artwork.
What started as Banners in the Terrace, evolved into Showcase in Pixels in 2019 and is the preeminent Local Government Art Competition across WA. Hosted by WALGA with entries invited from all 139 Member Councils, winners will have their artwork displayed on the digital tower in Yagan Square in Perth CBD.
This page includes everything you need to participate – entry requirements, key dates, submission guidelines, and contact details.
How to Get Involved
Artists of all ages are encouraged to submit their work through their Local Government.
The competition deadline has been extended, to give everyone a little extra time to showcase their creativity and talents, entries will close COB Friday, 24 October.
Each Council will coordinate entries and forward them to WALGA – so if you're keen to represent your community, reach out to your Local Government for details on how to participate.
This year's theme: ‘Design our Future’
This year’s theme invites artists to explore how they see the world evolving over the coming years.
Maybe it’s inventions that make life easier, clean oceans full of happy sea creatures or a robot that plants trees: however you see the future, we want to see it!
From crayons and paint to collage, sculpture, or digital art, every kind of artwork is welcome. Let your imagination run wild and show us what the Future means to you!
