WALGA’s 2025 Local Government Emergency Management Survey provides valuable insight into the pressures, priorities and emerging risks shaping emergency management across Western Australian Local Governments.
Delivered in partnership with the ECU Survey Research Centre, the survey attracted responses from 100 Local Governments, making it one of the most comprehensive snapshots of the sector to date. The findings highlight increasing emergency management responsibilities, ongoing workforce and funding pressures, and the continued dominance of bushfire risk, alongside emerging challenges such as cyber and biosecurity threats.
WALGA will host an online webinar to unpack the key findings, explore the trends behind the data and discuss what they mean for Local Government emergency management planning and for WA more broadly.
The webinar will be held on Thursday 30 April and will be delivered online.
This session is relevant for emergency management practitioners, Chief Executive Officers, Elected Members and others interested in Local Government emergency management.
