WALGA is seeking an Elected Member or Officer working in rural or remote WA to join the RoadWise Recognised Advisory Committee.

The RoadWise Recognised Advisory Committee meets once a quarter to:

  • Review submissions, completed by Western Australian Local Government Association (WALGA) road safety staff on behalf of RoadWise Councils and determine the allocation of Points and Ribbons.
  • Oversee the allocation of Ribbons and Points in a manner that follows a consistent and fair process.
  • Oversee the dispute resolution process for any complaints about RoadWise Recognised.
  • Monitor and share emerging evidence, research, and experience regarding the efficacy of road safety interventions and actions.
  • Monitor and make recommendations on the utility and methodology of the matrix for the allocation of Points, as required.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of RoadWise Recognised in motivating and supporting Local Governments in delivering best practice road safety.

Additional meetings may be convened as required, meetings run for two hours or less with
attendance in person or via Teams.
