Health and Safety Representatives (HSR) Refresher Training - 1 Day
Do you have staff members who are elected Health and Safety Representatives (HSR) and have completed their 5-day introductory HSR training program a few years ago?
Over the past few years, there have been significant changes to the work health and safety (WHS) legislation in Western Australia.
Your Health and Safety Representatives can update their knowledge by undertaking WALGA’s 1-day Health & Safety Representative Refresher course and have a forum to share their experiences with other HSRs and learn the below:
- Review your understanding of the WHS legislative framework and how this applies in the workplace
- Update your knowledge of the existing and new provisions of the WHS Act
- Understand requirements and mechanisms for consultation in the workplace and effectively represent employees on safety and health issues
- Resolve WHS issues through effective negotiation and conflict resolution
- Identify, minimise or eliminate hazards
- Issue Provisional Improvement Notices (PINs) and direct unsafe work to cease
- Access updated HSR resources, the new codes of practices involving psychosocial issues in the workplace.
The next scheduled course is on Wednesday, 20 March at WALGA. The cost per person is $350.00 (plus GST) and the course runs from 9:00am – 4:30pm.
