Support services available to Elected Members
Counselling is an integral part of LGIS’ Psychological Safe program, providing a vital resource whenever individuals struggle with role-related issues. 

This confidential service is available to all elected members, providing a safe space to explore and resolve issues.

LGIS can assist individuals struggling with role-related issues, including (but not limited to):
  • Role-related stress: experiencing persistent, high levels of anxiety due to heavy workloads, tight deadlines, or a demanding work environment. This may affect overall well-being and performance.
  • Burnout: showing signs of burnout, such as chronic fatigue, reduced productivity, and emotional exhaustion, because of prolonged and intense work-related issues.
  • Conflict: ongoing conflicts or strained relationships that impact ability to perform effectively and cause emotional distress.
  • Performance anxiety: experiencing anxiety and/or self-doubt that makes it difficult to give presentations, meet targets, or engage with others.

Support is available Monday - Friday from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm
Elected Member can access up to six (6) scheme-funded sessions.
 
Please note:
  • Personal issues such as financial, divorce, family deaths or sickness are not included/covered.
  • Please refer to your EAP service or GP for support and out of hours help.
