The State Government announced that Part 5 of Public Health Act will come into effect on the 4 June 2024. This means that the Local Governments must prepare their local public health plans within 24 months, of this date. More information is provided in this information sheet. The Department of Health has committed to provide updates and conduct appropriate stakeholder engagement to ensure a collaborative and informed approach to implementation. WALGA is working with the State Government to secure support and guidance for the sector.
