The Local Health Authorities Analytical Committee (LHAAC) is a State Government entity established under the Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1911, for the purpose of coordinating analytical services to Local Governments at discounted, fixed prices.
Local Government Environmental Health Officers and teams are the active users of the LHAAC Sampling Scheme in order to submit samples (food, water, air, other) for testing against various standards to investigate potential health impacts to the public.
All Local Governments are participants in the Scheme and must pay an annual fee to access a variety of high-quality analytical services provided by the LHAAC Appointed Analysts (Agrifood Technology, ChemCentre and Eurofins ARL).
The LHAAC also provides data analysis, reporting, risk assessment and professional development opportunities to Local Government Environmental Health teams as part of the annual fee.
