The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) is supporting three $3,000 scholarships for the Curtin Ignition program in 2024. WA students, individuals or businesses with an innovative idea that relates to agriculture, agrifood, fibre, fisheries and forestry industries can apply.
Previously DPIRD has supported people with ideas for starting businesses using coffee waste to create new products, using black fly larvae to create handwash and for a startup program to help school leavers find pathways into agricultural jobs, particularly in the regions.
Curtin Ignition is a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators to develop and trial business ideas, providing an intensive week of workshops, mentoring sessions, and clinics with industry. Applications close at 5pm on Friday 5 July 2024.
Local Governments are encouraged to promote this opportunity to their communities.
