The Auditor General has written to all Local Governments advising that the Office of the Auditor General will be introducing a new annual report to Parliament, identifying Local Government entities that did not meet the statutory reporting deadline of 31 December 2025, and the reasons for this.
This report will also highlight other matters pertaining to those entities such as control deficiencies and systemic issues impacting financial reporting quality.
WALGA is sharing this information to ensure all Local Governments are aware of the Auditor General’s correspondence and can make arrangements to meet the statutory deadline for financial reporting.
Local Governments that have queries can contact Mr Grant Robinson, Assistant Auditor General on 08 6557 7500
