State Budget 2022-23

The 2022-23 State Budget confirmed that Western Australia’s financial position remains sound, despite the ongoing challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic, and emerging issues around supply and labour constraints. The Budget focuses on the right areas to address current pain points being felt throughout Western Australian communities, while also looking to address longer term economic and social development.

As the peak body for Local Governments, WALGA particularly welcomes State Government investment in health, mental health, telecommunications, remote communities, road infrastructure and climate action. Read our full media release here.

Once the budget was handed down, WALGA provided members with highlights on the key issues for the sector. View the highlights and commentary here.

Federal Budget 2022-23

Through membership to the Australian Local Government Association (ALGA), WALGA supports and has contributed to the development of national sector advocacy in advance of the Federal Budget.

Read about WALGA's support for the national submission in our letter to Assistant Treasurer the Hon Michael Sukkar MP.
