You can have your say in your community by voting in the 2023 Local Government elections.

The WA Local Government Association would like to remind residents and owner/occupiers of the 139 Councils that there will be an opportunity to not only vote in the 2023 Local Government elections, but also to nominate to become a Councillor.

The dates for voting enrolment and Councillor nomination are fast approaching.

The final date to check your voting enrolment or enrol with the WA Electoral Commission is CoB Friday 25 August.

The final date to nominate to become a Local Government Councillor is 4pm 7 September.

WALGA State President Karen Chappel is encouraging community members to find more information at the WA Electoral Commssion website.

"If you want to have your say in October in the Council elections, or even nominate to become a Councillor, all the information is at the WAEC website.

"We are looking for a really strong response in postal and in-person voting on 21 October, as we know people are interested and invested in their local community."
