National Reconciliation Week 2024, ‘Now More Than Ever’ digital Acknowledgement of Country

On Monday 27 May, WALGA and the team at Reconciliation WA (RWA) are asking all Local Government CEOs, Mayors, Presidents and Elected Members in WA to join in on the launch of National Reconciliation Week with a digital Acknowledgement of Country.

Local Governments are encouraged to take a video of themselves on Boodja (Country), and post it to their social media platforms or share RWA’s downloadable tiles with the hashtag #NRW2024.

An Acknowledgement of Country is an opportunity for people in the Local Government sector to show respect for Traditional Owners and the continuing connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to Country.

There are a number of activities during NRW 2024, some of which involve Local Governments and their facilities.

National Reconciliation Week runs from Monday, 27 May until Monday, 3 June in 2024. For the full program click here.
