Share driving a hire ute ( Nick did all the driving…), and hosted by the Shire of Ashburton CEO Kenn Donnohoe, Karen and Nick spent some time in Onslow, touring the incredible Mineral Resources Ltd port and transport facilities, being briefed on the innovative linkages between the resources giant and the community.
A trip to the extraordinary refurbished former RAAF fuel tank in Onslow was a highlight, as the Shire looks to work up the family arts facility up as a community resource.
As a man proud of his red dirt heritage Nick dragged Karen along to visit the family home in Karratha, admiring the boab tree his father grew from a boab nut back in the day.
(Editor’s note: Nick and Karen watched the Melbourne Cup on Nick’s phone, in the cab of the ute, leaving Port Hedland.)
The President and the CEO have been to Cambridge, Fremantle, and the Gascoyne (Carnarvon, Exmouth and Upper Gascoyne) and Wheatbelt (Dandaragan, Wongan Ballidu & Victoria Plains) regions this calendar year.
