Bike riding in the Kimberley – Have your say

A community survey is now open so you can have your say to shape the future of bike riding in the Kimberley region through development of the Kimberley 2050 Cycling Strategy.

In collaboration with the community and the Shires of Broome, Derby-West Kimberley, Halls Creek and Wyndham-East Kimberley, the Department of Transport is working to identify opportunities to make travelling by bike safer, more comfortable and enjoyable for more people, more often.

To inform the long-term strategy, the survey will ask:

  1. How you use the network of paths and streets

  2. What issues you may have experienced

  3. What opportunities you think will improve bike riding journeys and experiences.

Whether you’re a novice or seasoned rider, a local or visitor to the region, you’re invited to tell us your thoughts. Complete the short survey through My Say Transport. Submissions close Friday, 5 July 2024.

The Kimberley 2050 Cycling Strategy will set out a long-term vision for bike riding across the region, including an aspirational cycling network with proposed infrastructure and supporting initiatives, covering key townsites and providing interregional connections.

It is one of multiple strategies aiming to improve bike riding across our vast state. Find about more about all of the regional strategies development in partnership with Local Governments across WA here: Long-term cycle network (transport.wa.gov.au)
