The structure of WALGA is designed to ensure we remain representative of our Member Councils. The structure also enables us to work efficiently and effectively in meeting our goals.
Our operational structure is comprised of a number of internal business units who undertake either policy and advocacy work on behalf of the Local Government sector, or offer services to assist Local Governments to perform their duties.

Our Governance structure is comprised of the following bodies:
WALGA State Council is the decision making representative body of all Member Councils, who are responsible for sector-wide policy making and strategic planning on behalf of Local Government.
Zones are groups of geographically aligned Member Councils who are responsible for direct elections of State Councillors, providing input into policy formulation and providing advice on various matters.
