ASK Waste Management is an independent consultancy dedicated to providing practical, cost-effective advice, services and knowledge to the waste management industry in Australia and the UK since 2007.
ASK are well-known as the regional and rural experts in waste and recycling. Our extensive hands-on experience allows us to fully understand the unique challenges of rural waste management, capitalise on missed opportunities, and ensure real and achievable solutions are delivered to every client and their community.
This experience with rural and regional local government waste management and the lack of reliable, convenient data has led us to create Cooee. A waste facility data for small to medium-sized waste facilities.
Goods / Services and Works Provided
- Cooee, the Waste Facility Data Solution – ASK has developed Cooee, a waste data collection, analysis and reporting system. Cooee collects data via a customisable app; and presented via the Cooee Reporting Portal. The data is collected, stored, analysed, and reported ‘live’, so managers can instantly review the data from their facility. Cooee also reports a range of KPIs with ‘at a glance’ dashboards, including waste diversion, tonnages, revenue, DWER annual reporting data, and more. In WA, Cooee is currently used by the Shires of Halls Creek, Derby-West Kimberley, Gingin, Chittering, Waroona, Harvey, Donnybrook, Merredin and Denmark.
- Strategic Waste Management Plans (SWMPs) – ASK has worked with numerous local and regional governments to develop SWMPs. Producing realistic SWMPs reflecting each client’s issues, opportunities, and resources while aligning with their long-term strategic objectives.
- Landfill Closure Management Plans (LCMPs) – ASK has produced numerous LCMPs and Progressive Post-Closure Management Plans for clients to assist in the progressive capping and closure of their landfills. Based on the legislative context and facility risk assessment, a rehabilitation plan is developed to meet the client’s objectives.
- Waste Facility Development, Costing and Design – ASK has developed many business cases, developed proposals, and designed waste facilities for our clients. These projects have included Material Recycling Facilities (MRF), composting facilities, C&D processing facilities, transfer stations, thermal energy from waste plants, and landfills.
- Approvals Application – ASK consults on, produces, and submits Approval Applications to DWER for numerous clients in Western Australia. Assisting our clients in compiling and producing documentation for Licence Amendments and Works Approval Applications.
- Training – ASK has worked with numerous clients to provide on-site and virtual training. ASK has trained stakeholders, including waste facility operational staff, managers, and local governments, on topics from waste facility operations to groundwater monitoring, waste management planning and more.
