Update: this event will now be held online only due to evolving COVID-19 restrictions.

The Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) has released draft Safer Places by Design Guidelines for public comment. The draft includes updates to principles and processes for the application of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) for all development in Western Australia.

WALGA and the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage (DPLH) are holding an online session for Local Government officers to learn more about changes to the Guidelines and what that means for them when applying and assessing against the Guidelines.

This session, being held on Thursday, 3 February, will provide an opportunity to engage in further detail on the Guidelines, ask questions and provide feedback to DPLH to inform the consultation process.

For further information please email WALGA’s Policy Officer Planning, Ruby Pettit or call 9213 2083.
