The Aboriginal Heritage (ACH) Act passed through Parliament in December 2021 and is expected to commence in July 2023. Presently the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage (DPLH) is consulting on the regulations, statutory guidelines and operational policies to support the ACH Act.

The third and final phase of the ACH Act co-design process has commenced with the release of a suite of Draft documents for consideration. WALGA will be co-facilitating an online webinar  with DPLH seeking feedback on these documents to inform a sector submission.

Participants will need to review the draft documents prior to the workshop, with particular focus on the following:
Additionally, DPLH are facilitating workshops in 34 location across the State. These workshops will be running from Monday, 14 November – Wednesday, 7 December. Registrations can be made here.
Local Governments are encouraged to participate in these sessions and/or make a submission directly to DPLH.
