International Day of People with Disability

|
International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is held on 3 December each year. It aims to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate their achievements and contributions.
IDPwD is an opportunity for us to make positive changes to the lives of the 4.4 million Australians with disability.
As a Local Government there are many ways you can get involved and promote inclusion in your community.

Local Governments Celebrate Children's Week

18 Local Governments were among the 41 recipients of grants totaling $70,000. Thank a Volunteer Day provides opportunities to celebrate volunteers, and raise public awareness of the contributions volunteers make in their community.

24 Local Governments were among the 52 recipients sharing $40,000 of grants for Seniors Week activities, celebrating the role of older people in our communities, promoting positive ageing and encouraging participation in community life.
