New Mask Directions
The COVID Transition (Face Covering) Directions have been released.
These Directions replace the COVID Restrictions (Gatherings and Related Measures) Directions (No 11), which have been revoked.
These Directions specify that if a responsible person or staff member at a venue where masks are required requests a medical certificate from a person claiming they are unable to wear a mask, that person must not act in a manner “that is threatening, intimidating or offensive” towards the staff member (Paragraph 8).

Testing and Isolation Protocols
Additional information has been released on the testing and isolation protocols that will apply in a high or very high caseload environment.
This information will be useful for Local Governments to factor into their workforce management planning. The existing test, trace, isolate and quarantine regime remains in place at current levels of community transmission.
This infographic has been developed that outlines the requirements for the following high and very high caseload scenarios:
- I have tested positive for COVID-19
- I am a close contact and have no symptoms
- I am a close contact and a critical worker
- I am a close contact who develops symptoms
- I am not a close contact and I have symptoms
