WALGA and the State Emergency Management Committee (SEMC) Business Unit are working in partnership with key stakeholders to identify options to improve Local Emergency Management Arrangements (LEMA). WALGA has received AWARE funding to undertake the Local Government consultation for the LEMA Review.
Six face-to-face workshops have now been delivered in Geraldton, Stirling, Katanning, Bunbury, Northam and Victoria Park.
Online workshops will be delivered in October to ensure Local Governments unable to attend a face-to-face workshop have an opportunity to contribute to the LEMA Review.
- 13 October – 10:00 am to 12:00 pm – Open to Kimberley, Pilbara, and Upper Gascoyne Zone Local Governments
- 13 October – 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm– Open to all Local Governments
- 14 October – 10:00 am to 12:00 pm – Open to Murchison and Goldfields Zone Local Governments
- 14 October – 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm – Open to all Local Governments
Register here for a free online LEMA Review workshop.
Local Governments are also encouraged to provide written feedback on the WALGA LEMA Issues Review Paper or respond to the LEMA Review Survey by COB Monday, 24 October.
