Eased Transitional Restrictions from Tomorrow
|
|
The Premier has announced eased transitional restrictions for Perth and Peel will come into effect tomorrow as planned until 12:01am, Monday, 12 July, with some additional relaxed measures.
|
|
People are encouraged to return to work unless they are vulnerable; and masks are required to be worn indoors including the workplace, on public transport and outdoors where physical distancing is not possible.
Regional travel is permitted with mask-wearing requirements, except to remote Aboriginal communities.
Under the eased transitional restrictions:
- 150 patron limit and 2sqm rule for:
- Public venues (swimming pools, recreation centres, outdoor playgrounds, museums)
- Hospitality (changes mean seated service not required)
- Beauty/hairdressing
- Fitness venues (gyms, pilates, yoga, dance studios). Indoor and outdoor fitness classes permitted, masks mandatory except when doing vigorous exercise
- Nightclubs, places of worship
- Public events except stadiums and performance venues outlined below
- Major stadiums and seated entertainment venues for performances (ie theatres, concert halls, cinemas) can operate at 50 per cent capacity
- Outdoor gatherings can take place with up to 150 people without a COVID event plan
- Community sport is permitted with spectators
- Private gatherings are limited to 30 people indoors private, 150 outdoors
- Weddings and funerals limited to 150 people (excl staff)
- Visitors to hospitals, aged and disability care permitted with four personal visitors per patient per day
- Category 2 and 3 elective surgeries postponed up to and including Friday, 9 July
Travel into and out of Perth and Peel is permitted, with anyone travelling who has been in Perth and Peel since Sunday, 27 June subject to mask wearing requirements outlined above.
This phase is anticipated to end at 12:01am, Monday, 12 July.
The State Government reminds West Australians of the need to ensure they are registering their contact details at businesses and venues where contact registers are mandatory.
