Perth Metro and Peel Regions Enter Lockdown
The Premier has announced that effective from midnight tonight, Friday, 23 April until midnight Monday, 26 April, the Perth metropolitan area and Peel region will enter a three-day lockdown. 
These measures are being implemented due to two new cases relating to hotel-quarantine acquired COVID-19 being reported today.

The lockdown affects the following Local Government Areas:

Peel
  • Boddington
  • Murray
  • Serpentine-Jarrahdale
  • Waroona
  • Mandurah
Perth
  • Cambridge
  • Claremont 
  • Cottesloe
  • Mosman Park
  • Peppermint Grove
  • Nedlands
  • Perth
  • Subiaco
  • Vincent
  • Bassendean
  • Bayswater
  • Belmont
  • Kalamunda
  • Mundaring
  • Swan
  • Joondalup
  • Wanneroo
  • Stirling
  • Cockburn
  • East Fremantle
  • Fremantle
  • Kwinana
  • Melville
  • Rockingham
  • Armadale
  • Gosnells
  • Canning
  • South Perth
  • Victoria Park

The following restrictions apply:
  • People should not leave the Perth or Peel regions, unless you have an exemption. G2G passes are not required at this stage.
  • Masks are mandatory from 6pm tonight and over the three day lockdown for Perth and Peel residents
  • People who have left Perth and Peel since Saturday, 17 April will be required to wear a mask when in public across WA.
  • People cannot enter Perth and Peel except to access or deliver essential health and emergency services and other essential requirements, or returning residents
  • Restaurants and cafes to provide takeaway service only
  • No visitors to hospitals or residential aged care and/or disability facilities unless under exceptional circumstances
  • Weddings and funerals will be permitted – however, with a 100 patron capacity, not including staff, and masks must be worn
  • Travel remains prohibited to some remote Aboriginal communities.
There are only four reasons to leave home:
  • work that cannot be done from home or remotely
  • shopping for essentials like groceries, medicine and necessary supplies
  • for medical or health care needs including compassionate requirements and looking after the vulnerable
  • to exercise, with a maximum of four people, limited to one hour per day, and masks must be worn (except for vigorous exercise)
Masks are to be worn at all times when outside of the home, including at workplaces and on public transport.  Masks are not necessary for children under 12.  The public is further reminded of the need to adhere to SafeWA registration requirements.
 
The State Government has provided the following list of facilities that need to be closed.
  • Pubs, bars and clubs
  • Gyms and indoor sporting venues – no community sport is permitted
  • Playgrounds, skate parks and outdoor recreational facilities
  • Cinemas, entertainment venues, and casinos
  • Large religious gatherings and places of worship 
  • Libraries and cultural institutions
Public events are not permitted.  ANZAC Day Dawn Services will be cancelled in the Perth and Peel region, with Driveway dawn service being held again this year.
