|
WALGA Training is proud to provide the opportunity for four Elected Members to receive a Scholarship to undertake the Diploma of Local Government – Elected Member.
The Diploma is the highest level qualification that an Elected Member can obtain through WALGA Training. This specialised training program enables participants to increase their skills and knowledge in order to confidently provide leadership to their community and to efficiently and effectively fulfill their role and responsibility, particularly in relation to good decision making in accordance with the Local Government Act 1995 and relevant regulations.
Scholarship Benefits:
• The scholarship will cover 50% of training and assessment fees up to the value of $5,085.
• Regional applicants will receive an additional travel expenses of $1,000 which will be reimbursed on successful completion of the program.
How do I apply?
• Complete the Nomination Form – you can download a copy here
• Attach all supporting documents
• Email the completed form and documents through to: training@walga.asn.au

This course addresses the processes, knowledge, skills and attributes required for Elected Members to contribute effectively to their Council’s annual appraisal of its Chief Executive Officer.
The course covers the legal responsibility of Elected Members to review the performance of their CEO, the planning and processes involved with the annual appraisal, assessing achievements and setting goals.
Target Audience
Suitable for Elected Members who have minimal involvement in the annual appraisal of Local Government Chief Executive Officers and who wish to make a contribution to their Council’s process. |
