Level 2 Restrictions to be Eased from 31 March
|
|
The Premier has announced that some COVID-19 restrictions will be eased, from Thursday 31 March.
|
|
Of particular relevance to Local Government, the restrictions will include:
- Masks – will continue to be required for people aged 8 years and over (other than in the home),
- Density and capacity limits – will include the 2 square metre rule for fitness and entertainment venues, galleries and museums,
- Contact registration – check-ins will only be required for higher risk venues that require proof of vaccination. Check in will not be required at retail outlets and other lower risk sites where only casual interactions are likely,
- Community sport – indoor community sports as per venue requirements, outdoor community sports will be permitted with spectators,
- Events – COVID Event Checklists required for events with more than 500 patrons and less than 1,000 patrons, Event Plans required for large events with 1,000 patrons and above, 2sqm rule applies,
- Critical worker furloughing policy - to continue

Close contacts - individuals will now not be considered close contacts for 12 weeks after contracting COVID-19.

Reminder: COVID-19 Considerations for Events
|
|
On Monday 28 March, WALGA is holding a webinar focusing on the considerations for events in the current COVID-19 context.
|
|
The webinar will include a presentation and Q&A session with Jaala Downes, Senior Scientific Officer, Department of Health and Superintendent Stuart Hartzenberg and Detective Inspector Greg Cunningham, attached to Compliance & Assurance Division, Operation TIDE.
