Commencement of Relaxed Public Health and Social Measures
The Directions and FAQs outlining details of the Level 1 Public Health and Social Measures now in place across the State have been released.
The COVID Transition (Public Health and Social Measures) Directions (No 2) outline the measures announced last week.  Of particular relevance for Local Government are:
  • Events: COVID Event Plans are required for events of over 1,000 patrons and events checklists are required for events between 501 to 1000 patrons.   The Directions detail event requirements and process for submission of Plans and check lists to the relevant Local Government. The Directions also require COVID Event Plans be lodged with the Department of Health for any event with patrons exceeding 5,000.

  • High Risk Venues:  Cafes, museums, galleries; and community, recreation or youth centres continue to be classified as venues required to comply with the 2 square metre rule.
Contact registers are still required where proof of vaccination is required. Some Local Government premises no longer require contact registers. Schedule 1 of the Contact Register Directions (No 4) lists the relevant places that require contact registers.

An update has been issued to the COVID Transition (Testing and Isolation) Directions (No 8).
Further information on the measures is available here.
