Procurement and Contract Management - The Fundamentals eLearning


Overview:

This is an online and face to face introductory course designed for individuals who are new to, or requiring an update in, the undertaking of procurement and contract management in their role in Western Australian Local Government.


*previously called Introduction to Local Government Procurement

Target Audience:

Suitable for Local Government Managers and Offices whose role requires them to be directly or indirectly involved in procurement or contract management process.

Suitable also for Elected Members who want a greater understanding of the Procurement and Contract Management framework

Learning Outcomes:

As a result of completing this course, participants should be able to understand:
  • the legislative and policy framework related to procurement and contract management in Local Government;
  • effective procurement planning and strategy development;
  • the effective use of the WALGA Procurement Toolkit and templates;
  • an overview of the end-to-end procurement process, from developing Request for Quotations and Tenders, to basic evaluation and awarding a contract, and
  • the roles and responsibilities in managing contracts for best outcomes for the Local Government.
