Performance Improvement


The 'Performance Improvement' course outlines the process of providing and following a clear framework for identifying, managing and documenting under-performance in a manner that ensures procedural fairness and transparency.
This course will enable participants to identify under-performance relating to the quality, quantity, accuracy and timeliness of a position’s responsibilities and work outputs, and an understanding of the impacts on productivity, quality of work outputs and individual and team morale, if not appropriately addressed.

Target Audience

Anyone in Local Government who is responsible for managing or supervising employees and human resource officers.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this program, participants should be able to:
  • understand the difference between underperformance and conduct issues and the way they are managed;
  • identify and be able to communicate performance standards and expectations in a constructive manner;
  • understand the performance improvement process; and
  • know how to develop and implement a performance improvement plan.

Cancellations, transfers and substitutions
  • Requested must be received in writing via email, letter or fax.
  • Cancellations received within 5 working days of the start of the course will incur a 20% administration fee of the full course cost.
  • Non-attendance or cancellations received within 2 working days of the start of the course will incur the full course fee.
  • Participants can only transfer course dates once without incurring the full fee.
  • Substitutions can be made at any time and no fee will be incurred.
