Overview

Participants will increase their knowledge and understanding of the Award and the interaction with the Fair Work Act 2009 (including the National Employment Standard) to be able to respond to questions or provide information to employees and management.

Target Audience

Suitable for Local Government HR and payroll professionals who would like to increase their knowledge of the Local Government Industry Award 2020.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • interpret and calculate pay and entitlements contained within the Local Government Industry Award 2020
  • understand how the National Employment Standards, Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and other legislation interact with Local Government Industry Award 2020, and
  • understand employee entitlements to annual leave, personal / carer’s leave, long service leave, parental leave, compassionate leave, community service leave and public holidays.

Cancellations, transfers and substitutions
  • Requested must be received in writing via email, letter or fax.
  • Cancellations received within 5 working days of the start of the course will incur a 20% administration fee of the full course cost.
  • Non-attendance or cancellations received within 2 working days of the start of the course will incur the full course fee.
  • Participants can only transfer course dates once without incurring the full fee.
  • Substitutions can be made at any time and no fee will be incurred.
